5U Cases

5U format cases from the Sonic Synths System 345 range. Cases are available as either bare, unpowered or powered to suit your particular needs. Powered versions require the optional 'brick' external power supply. We do not bundle these in as standard because one power brick could power 2, 3 even 4 cases depending on the total load. Not all unpowered and powered versions include a 5V rail so please check product details before ordering.

Sonic Synths 5U Powered M2 Case 10U

This powered 5U high by 10U long case includes the power supply board EU14BR. Plug in the optional 15Vdc power brick and you are ready to go. The +/-12Vdc are generated and distributed by the EU14BR to the 14 x 10-pin module power headers. The M²Synth (MOTM style version) uses exactly the same +/-12V supply as Eurorack formats thus allowing for the sharing of power supplies. This particular case is not suitable for the MU format as it uses +/-15V supplies, these are in development for 2026. Included: Front and back sides, 1 x blank cheek, 1 x powered cheek, 2 x infill panels, back panel and the EU14BR power supply. Optional: 15V, 60W power brick. Depending on the modules you populate the case with, one power brick can power up multiple cases, up to 4 maximum. This is achieved using our external dc power leads. This approach was first utilised to great success on our flagship M²Synth using a similar now retired case design that precedes the System 345.

This bare 5U high by 10U long case includes no power distribution or cable entries leaving it as a 'blank canvas' to customise to suit your own needs. Included: Front and back sides, 2 x blank cheeks. Use M3 hex, square nuts or tapped strips for fixing panels to the front.
