  • Sonic Synths 1.75HP Infill Panels for 10U Skiff (Pair)

Sonic Synths 1.75HP Infill Panels for 10U Skiff (Pair)

Our 84HP skiffs are actually 10U wide as we also use the cases for other modular formats. When populated with 84HP's worth of Eurorack modules, there is a small gap at each end. These narrow panels or strips fill that gap to leave exactly 84HP for your modules. Made from 2mm powder coated steel, supplied complete with fixings. Our 84HP skiffs actually come with these ready fitted, these are offered as spares or if you are building up a case from scratch using our range of  Case Accessories.

  • Sonic Synths 3U Skiff Case Leg Coupler (Pair)

Sonic Synths 3U Skiff Case Leg Coupler (Pair)

As you Eurorack system grows and you need more than one case to house your ever increasing number of modules, then build upwards to form a rack. These legs serve three main purposes: Inclines the base case by 22.5 degrees to the table top Provides stability for tall racks, even as tall as 6 cases Provides the mounting to attach the second row case Fitted with grippy rubber feet to limit any sliding on the table. The second row case is further inclined by a fixed 45 degrees to the base case (total 67.5 degrees to the table top). Beyond 2 cases, our range of couplers can be used to form various arrangements of case configurations but there are limits. It is important to keep the centre of gravity inside the leg couplers or you will lose stability. For example, the 3 row rack in the attached photo finished off with 22.5 degree couplers making it 90 degrees to the table top. We had no problem reaching 6 cases tall, see attached R&D photo.  Made from 2mm powder coated steel. Dimensions 220mm x 75mm

  • Sonic Synths 10U Extrusion Side (Pair)

Sonic Synths 10U Extrusion Side (Pair)

We designed these 10U (84HP, 446mm long) rails to suit not just the Eurorack format but others as well. These extrusions are equally useful for creating instrument enclosures in general.  Focusing on modular synth cabinets, there is one vitally important consideration that dictates whether these rails can even be used or not. The crucial dimension is the distance from the edge of the module panel to the centre of the fixing hole. Another important consideration is the panel thickness, it may not stop it from fitting but the aesthetics may suffer. What may not be immediately obvious is the rail profile differs between the top and bottom edges. Referencing the cross sectional drawing above, the left hand profile suits modules where the distance between the panel edge and the fixing hole centre is less than 5mm and the panel thickness is less than 2.5mm. This suits formats such as Eurorack and MU. The right hand profile suits panels where the fixing hole distance from the panel edge is less than 7mm and panel thickness is less than 5mm. This suits MOTM, M²Synth & Serge to name just three. Incorporate into the extrusion is a slot to slide in PCBs (65.5mm width) as we do with our range of power supplies. In the case of our power supplies, they are contained within the overhand thus offering full case depth over the entire module area. This avoids clashes with power supplies, connectors etc as so often found on other manufacturer's cases / skiffs. The ends are tapped to accept M3 fixings for the end cheeks. Our end cheeks are sized to ensure the spacing between the top and bottom module fixing holes is correct for the intended modular format.
