      More information

Our power supply and distribution boards are all designed to slide into the System 345 extrusion sides. No fixings required and the components are all concealed within the extrusion. This means the full depth of the case is available for your modules.

At the time of writing, these boards do not have mounting holes for applications outside of our extrusion cases. However, the top and bottom edges are free from PCB traces so should not present any difficulties in drilling some mounting holes.

The EU14DO fitted to the 84HP unpowered skiff  is a through hole double sided PCB with a large ground plane which is essential in modular synthesizer power supplies. It helps reduce noise and electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring better signal integrity and stable power delivery. They also provide a low-impedance path for return currents, which is crucial for maintaining performance in both digital and analogue circuits. The impedance of the EU14DO is just 5.4mΩ which is 15 times lower than a similar length of IDC ribbon cable used by some manufacturers.

The incoming supply is connected to the terminal block J15 which distributes power to the 14 x 10-pin box headers and the slave power out terminal J16 via power switch S1.

J16 can be used to expand the board for wider cases such as our 104HP version. The 20HP expansion board EU03DOX for 104HP or another EU14DO can be used for 168HP wide cases.

J16 can also be used to connect to another EU14DO for 6U x 84HP cases. The two boards are simply cabled together, 'Slave Power Out' of the first board to the 'Power In' of the slave board. r. When using the EU14DO as a slave, S1 is not fitted and wire links soldered in its place A-A & B-B.

Sonic Synths System 345 is a modular analogue Synth enclosure that has versatility at the core of its design. Based around Sonic Synths unique and exclusive aluminium extrusion design, it is not constrained to any particular modular format. Starting with the Eurorack format, the range will be expanded to include 4U and 5U and even these have differing sub-formats such as the 5U MOTM, M² & MU.

System 345 launched in September 2025 initially with the 84HP Eurorack format. During the remainder of 2025 and beyond, further formats and widths will be added. Another nice feature is you can mix different formats in the same vertical rack of most cases.

Equally important and not an area to compromise in is the power supply. The System 345 excels with the number of  different solutions for different modular formats. Whether this is module voltage, power lead connectors or module spacing, the System 345 aims to cover as many as practicable. From distribution only (DO), standard power supplies (BR) through to the fully featured FR range that offers individual voltage regulation at each and every module power connector.

The power supply board slides into the aluminium extrusion and requires no fixings.

The System 345 power supplies have been designed to keep noise on the power rails low, <10mV peak to peak is typical even on the BR range.
